Copyright, Licensing and Archiving Policy

Authors retain copyright. GMR publishes Version of Record articles under CC BY 4.0 and preserves the scholarly record through controlled backups and versioned post-publication notices.

Copyright and licence

Authors retain copyright in their published articles. By publishing with GMR, authors grant the journal the non-exclusive rights needed to publish and maintain the Version of Record. Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits sharing and adaptation with appropriate attribution.

Reuse and attribution

  • Readers may copy, redistribute and adapt published material under CC BY 4.0.
  • Reuse must provide appropriate credit, identify the source and licence, and indicate whether changes were made.
  • Third-party material that is not covered by CC BY 4.0 must be used according to the credit line and applicable permission.

Archiving and record integrity

Published Version of Record files and metadata are maintained as part of the journal scholarly record. Corrections, retractions and expressions of concern are linked to the affected article rather than silently replacing the publication history. Operational backups cover production and database records; participation in an external preservation service is claimed only after formal activation.
